CostaRicaGems.com (“we”, “our”, “us”) is an online marketing page that matches buyers and investors with real-estate opportunities in Costa Rica. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and secure personal information submitted through our lead-capture form or gathered via cookies and similar technologies. Having a clear Privacy Policy is required both by major data-protection laws and by Facebook Lead Ads terms.

2. Information We Collect

  • Contact details you enter in the form (name, email, phone, preferred location, budget).

  • Device & usage data (IP address, browser, pages viewed, referral source) collected automatically via cookies and Facebook Pixel.

4. How We Use Cookies & Tracking

  2. Meta Platforms, Inc. for ad measurement through Pixel;

We never sell your data for unrelated marketing.

7. International Transfers

Because we are based in Costa Rica but use providers in the United States and the EU, your data may be processed outside your home country. Whenever we transfer data internationally, we rely on legally recognised safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

8. Data Retention

Lead-form submissions are kept for 24 months or until you withdraw consent, whichever comes first. Cookie data is retained for the lifespan stated in section 4. We will delete or anonymise data when it is no longer needed.

9. Security Measures

We apply encryption in transit (HTTPS), firewall-protected servers, role-based access, and periodic security audits. While no system is 100 % secure, these measures meet the “reasonable safeguards” standard under Law 8968 and comparable frameworks.

10. Links to Facebook and Other Sites

Our Facebook Lead Ads display this policy’s URL, as required by Meta. If you click an external link (e.g., a broker’s site), their own privacy terms apply.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this notice to reflect changes in our practices or the law. Material changes will be announced on the landing page and, if appropriate, by email. The “Last updated” date at the top will change accordingly.
